Phish Hook

OK, it's just a dent, but they nailed a phisher big time -- he's facing 101 years in prison.

Could It Be Love?

Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell.

Seriously. Have you ever seen two people talk so much about each other?

National Champs...Again!

OK, so you've been expecting me to post about the Gators winning the national title this week. Well, what can I say that hasn't alread been said?

Well, just a little bit, actually.

Obviously Chris Leak and the other seniors won't be back next year, and a number of juniors will probably enter the draft, too. But there are three other guys who may be highly sought after in the wake of the team's convincing performance Monday night.

The first is Athletic Director Jeremy Foley. As has been stated repeatedly, never before has one school had the Division I football and basketball titles simultaneously. As the guy whose program put it all together, one has to think that Foley could write his own ticket. His decision to hire Urban Meyer was a no-brainer, but is ability to actually get Meyer -- who turned down the Notre Dame job to come to Gainesville -- is significant. Foley also hired Billy Donovan for the basketball team when Donovan wasn't even sure he wanted to return to coaching. According to Donovan, he was advised by his mentor, Louisville head coach Rick Pitino, not to take the job. Foley found out about it and talked to Pitino, who immediately called Donovan back and told him he had to take the job.

Fortunately, Foley has shown little indication that he would consider going elsewhere. He has been at UF for 30 years, starting as an intern in the ticket office in 1976 and working his way up the ladder, earning the top job in 1992.

The other two guys who will start showing up on wish lists are the co-defensive coordinators, Charlie Strong and Greg Mattison. Strong is a holdover from the Ron Zook era, and served as head coach at the 2004 Peach Bowl following Zook's departure. Mattison was hired by Meyer when he took over at UF, having served in the same position at Notre Dame. Both should expect to be considered for head coaching jobs. One thing to note is that defensive coordinators at Florida, even during the Spurrier Era, when offense reigned supreme, have gone on to successful head coaching careers. Forget about Ron Zook -- Bob Stoops has won a national title at Oklahoma, and Bob Pruett was tremendously successful at Marshall, winning a Division I-AA championship and then to prominence in I-A.

The good news here is that if we lose one, we may still keep the other.
